Permanent lighting day and night comparison

Permanent Lighting

Permanent lighting questions.

How much electricity does it use?

Trimlight uses energy-efficient LED bulbs. On bright white, each bulb uses about 0.9 watts, which equals roughly 180 watts for an average system.

What is the warranty?

Permanent roofline lighting installations come with a lifetime product warranty! In addition, we honor a 2-year labor warranty for installations.

Can the lights be dimmed?

Yes. Trimlight can be dimmed using the sliding dimmer feature in the Trimlight Edge app.

How long is Trimlight rated to last?

Trimlight is rated for 50,000 hours, which can equate to upwards of 30 years for many homeowners depending on usage.

Can individual lights be controlled?

Yes. The lights are individually addressable, so you can choose which lights are on and what color each light displays.

Are the lights visible during the day?

The lights are integrated into a color-matched aluminum track designed to stay low-profile and blend into the roofline when not in use.

How long does installation take?

Installation timing depends on the size and complexity of the project. Many homes can be completed in about two days.

How much does the system cost?

Cost varies based on spacing, linear footage, roofline complexity, equipment needs, and other project factors. Reach out for a free quote tailored to your home.

Home Hardening

Wildfire preparation, gutter guards, and ember protection.

What are ember-resistant gutter guards?

Ember-resistant gutter guards are stainless steel micro-mesh systems installed over gutters to reduce the buildup of pine needles, leaves, and roof debris that can ignite during wildfire weather. They also help keep gutters cleaner while still allowing water to flow properly.

Do gutter guard estimates include a fire risk assessment?

Yes! Every gutter guard estimate includes a free fire risk assessment. While preparing your estimate, we look for obvious ember-entry points, ignition risks, and practical home-hardening improvements that could help reduce risk around the structure.

Do you provide standalone fire risk assessments?

We currently include a free fire risk assessment with gutter guard and home-hardening estimates. This helps homeowners prioritize practical improvements instead of receiving a report with no clear next step.

What home-hardening services do you offer?

We provide fire risk assessments and design services for defensible space implementation, and coordinate with local lanscaping professionals to perform the groundwork.

Do you perform defensible space landscaping?

We focus on home-hardening improvements such as gutter guards, vent mesh, and ember-risk details. For landscaping, we determine your fire risk, help plan defensible space design, and coordinate with trusted local landscaping partners to complete the groundwork.

Why do gutters and vents matter during wildfire season?

Wind-blown embers can collect in dry gutter debris or enter unprotected vents and concealed spaces. Improving these areas help reduce common ignition and ember-entry risks around the home.

What is the science behind all of this?

We follow the guidelines established by the Insurance Institue for Business & Home Safety. They are the Number One source for wildfire safety information, with all mitigation strategies based on physical test results (https://ibhs.org/risk-research/wildfire).
